Dirty dishes

"All your talk is worthless
when compared to one whisper
of the Beloved."

Rumi said that "I Love You" is love of God,
no matter who is sitting across the table from you
when you say it.

I am comfortable with that.

The idea that what I love
is God-in-you
is easier than thinking
that I love you-as-you, especially
when the trash is overflowing
and the sink is full of dirty dishes.
